While he seems to understand the emotion behind the song, I don't think he conveys it very well. The key to achieving the haunting mood in this song is the use of legato and sustained notes. Kelly perfects it and Mary Blacks version is good too but Knopfler just seems to punch out every phrase. Some nice alternative chords though.
