they were running a 1.5 liter V6 with about 950 HP.... the days were F1 required balls and skills.

Monte Carlo was a very, very dangerous circuit back then. The cars (which were enormously overboosted turbo monsters) had almost no margin for error, which was, then, compounded by the street circuit's extremely rough surface and complete lack of safety run-offs and sandtraps. "Dangerous" can't describe it. They were titans on the streets of Monaco.

They were only running 2 valves per cylinder then? I could have sworn that they were running 4 valves WAY before 86

The chicane after the tunnel seemed a lot faster then than nowadays, also a very nice lap
