The rasberry ants are getting into my house. I have a fire ant problem in my yard and am working on taking care of that problem. I figure if I get rid of the fire ants the rasberry ants will go away (since rasberry ants eat fire ants).

I live in San Antonio and I first spotted these ants in early July. They tried to take over my car and created a "mound" under the passenger side floor mat.

you trusted wikipedia?? lol....nope, not sugar ants...they are a real problem down here in texas as they get into any electronic device and even eat other insects like fire ants

Ants can't swim, but they can float together in huge groups until they hit land. It happens.

They are real, and very invasive. No one yet knows where they came from. They multiply much faster than fire ants. The exterminator, after whom they were named eradicated an acre only to come back a month later to find the ground covered 2" deep in ants. Their menace is in their sheer numbers. The South American species that is a close relative has been known to smother small animals by just swarming over them. Imagine what would happen to a baby in a crib.

They are not destroying those electronics on purpose. They just go in those devices and make accidentaly a short circuit... (Sorry my english is not very good... :S )

Untrue. There are various reports stating these ants have annihilated electronics such as wall-outlets, computer monitors and CPUs. |
