You'd be surprised at how many bands tune 1/2 and even a whole step flat. Many do when on tour. Guitarists understand a key as a position as much or more than actual pitch. IE: If the 5th fret is an "A", I will call it that regardless of being tuned down. Smart folks can figure it out from there..

that would have just made everything a lot more complicated for everyone man lol.....and besides, you can just follow what he says and simply slide everything down one fret if you want to follow it by ear

Thanks for tuning down... that's pretty freakin lame. Also you're a guitar school, so you should be calling the notes their correct names - if you aren't tuned to concert and you tuned to Eb, then you are playing Ab minor. Very pointless for the detune... sweet lick though. =P

parkers sound awesome..and sweeping and tapping are the hardest stuff for me to master, well,mosly sweeping..
