fuck that, i had one put in without the ultrasound and i have the scars of where the guy missed cuz he couldnt see where he was going, i had another one put in with it and the whole thing was alot easier with less scars. so u can shove the practical up your ass

Agree that you should be comfortable to insert it blindly but the complication rate with US is almost zero. Its becoming standard of care in the US. If its not an emergency situation you should at least verify the anatomy and patency of the vessels.
