The same thing can happen if you have something you dont want, while a friend is telling a story about something, while they are explaining, their subconcious is still receptive so you can hand them the item and their subconcious will automatically reach for it, its not untill after they have finished talking do they realise they have the item.

Good analysis, but you missed a couple of things. My timings come from this video: ?v=f-TURhK90_8
First thing, there *was* a handshake interrupt, but not where you described it. What you describe at 0:28 is a kinaesthetic ambiguity induction.
The handshake interrupt occurred before that at 0:21 and was a very subtle version.
The kinaesthetic ambiguity induction works by maintaining contact with the hand so the 'pattern' does not have an end point, which is different from an interrupt. |
