i've reached level 86 maximum, made only plasma canons(red) + 4 dca; had no problems till 72-75 level: i mean - to close direct threads to monster with wall\canon; 'bout 10500 points

Actually, the red DCA is not twice as powerful as the blue one. Sorry to dissapoint.

first off... each stage of the dca 1-5 doubles damage with each upgrade... so basically the red DCA is another (cheaper) blue dca right off the bat with equal firepower. The increased speed and range make it much more efficient and lucrative to upgrade a blue to a red than upgrading another dca all the way to blue.
