Wow, this is crazy, the Navy is creating a rail gun that will be on US Navy ships in a couple of years! They already have one that accelerates a prejectile at speeds of mach 7!

easy payload delivery...in thoery you could make a giant sphere coat it with magnets make it hollow throw your crap inside and it would be effortless trasportation from point a to point b just have to make the rail and have big magnets.....

Assuming the typical positive energy cost; how might this be used to reduce the cost of transport? Energy is localized at the end points and the cost path construction can be offset by the number of trips made. Accurate measurements of energy use will determine the scale of useful development.

Why not make a circle and put a channel around the inside of the magnetic circle will the ball continue to rotate in a circle.Or use 2 balls on the ends of a rotating center pivot the length can be adjustable to regulate speed. Then use this energy to power to power your launcher like a trebuchet and multiply the input energy? (IE:Mechanical accumulator) |
