The guy is a walking chord encyclopaedia. Saw him about 10 years ago at a very small venue in Ann Arbor, MI., no stage, stood about 2 feet away from him with my mouth open the whole night. I was having a smoke during a set break outside and he and Beck came out. We talked guitars and travel for about 15 minutes. Super nice guy, very unpresumpous, and a real "muscian". Been a fan ever since. And yes he dressed like a gay zorro back then too.

Thats what my old gym teacher told me, that was not a nice experience.

Yeah, he's quite the snazzy dresser. But close your eyes and it doesn't matter.

Robben is my idol as far as guitarists go, there are few people in the world that play with as much class and sophistication as he does, even if he does dress like Zorro on gay night hes still the best.

Bravo!

Absolutely! I'd rather listen to Robben play wrong notes tastefully than someone playing all the right notes at break neck speeds.

Roscoe Beck is probably THE best blues bass player of all time. Even though he does look a little like Homer Simpson (the younger years)

Robben is - by far - the greatest guitarist around - I've been a dedicated fan ever since Sunrise - his solos are never too long or too excessive - they are just right... As much as I enjoy his recent work - for me the period with the Blue Line (Roscoe Beck and Brechtlein) was magnificent and truly outstanding

This is a great tune! Mike Landau does it in his live set now as well. |
