I agree with you. My statement isn't entirely true, but in my opinion, it just seems to appear that way. Not saying every asian celebrity from both regions conform to what I have said before.

But that's not entirely true...I mean, Joan Chen has a "slim" nose and is quite fair. Japanese actress Aoi Yu have pretty typical "mongoloid" features.....Gong Li and Zhang Ziyi fit those features as well. But maybe you're right a little, I think maybe that large eye "westerner" look seems more exotic to the asian population and they like it.

hmm...those features aren't "caucasian" per se. They exist quite commonly within the asian population. "Slim" noses are a well known common trait in Koreans and some Japanese (look at the Japanese Imperial Family, their noses...). Large eyes are not uncommon, and well, asians who aren't tan have fairer skin in general. I just think that since there's a much larger population, there's more to choose from. But yes, concepts of beauty are different, in the west they like them tan for starters.

I meant in terms of popularity. Asian celebs in asia appear to have larger eyes, fair skin and a slimmer nose in the most stereotypical sense(google through some korean/japanese websites..and compare to lucy liu, katie etc). Sorry, i don't think my other comment was clear. My point is asians with a caucasian appearence are genearlly more favoured in asia.

I do not agree that asian celebs appear more "caucasian" in Asia. What do you mean by that? They all look asian to me, whether it is western asian celebs or eastern ones, the eastern ones look like lucy liu and katie too in terms of looks-caliber. But there are also the extremely pretty ones who are on a whole different league, but most of those started out as models so they have to have more prominent cheekbones and stuff, if by those features you mean "caucasian." They were scouted for it.

if you havn't realised by now, the perception of asian beauty is pretty dependant upon where you come from... could be one of the reasons why western asian celebs appear more "asian". notice how the big celebs in asia appear more caucasian. that being said, there's no really wrong or right perception of beauty.

NO mate, i don't get all thezse white guys calling asian chicks like katie leung and lucy liu "hot", they are substandard dogs and would no way make it to stardom anywhere in asia, china jkorea or japan. n yet they go around drooling over them like something so "exotic" lmao. |
