But i would not recommend you to buy this movie. If any, research his other movies, first, the ones i would recommend for you to watch first just as a preview to understand his movie style would have to be, "Time" "3-Iron" "Bad Guy" "The Isle" then this one...and trust me you will need to be prepared to watch them...

I don't think you can ever go wrong buying a Kim Ki-Duk movie. His movie for sure are not happy ones. He gives little sympathy to his characters, all of whom are located in the lowest levels of society. The way he story tells is very masterful, of all the korean directors of his time, I would say he has been most efficient to not disappoint me. Likewise this movie, and (ALMOST ALL OS HIS other films) are all favorites of mine, which i almost own all.

Je l'ai acheté il y a 3 mois environ et l'ai regardé hier soir, tout seul, au casque en vo sous titré... Il est vraiment très intéressant et on se surprend à ressentir les douleurs diverses... Du très bon film !

This is my favorite KK Duk film - and i've seen all dozen of 'em. It's about a very young foolish girl who goes into prostitution (no nudity or sex scenes) but dies fleeing the police. Her more innocent friend decides to honour her by filling her shoes. ... and when her widower father learns the truth, a very dramatic reconciliation ensues. No spoilers here, the beauty is in the journey. The last scene is so damn beautiful with a little help from Satie's "gymnopedie 1"

the film is excellent and convicting, yet also provoking and partly disturbing
but absolutely recommendable! |
