American quality was superior to the Japanese by the end of the war. Garbage begets garbage, not victory.

Well it's sad but I have to agree. That's the weak point of our planes and how to kill them.

You have to see the whole picture The USA before 1941 was giving arms to Canada, England, Australlia, Yes they had masses but the Planes were better for the jobs needed Japans Zero was light and had no armor P-47 P-51's did and had bigger guns but were heavier and use more fuel most japan's pilots dove down the P-51 could out dive a zero or ki-81 or out climb them the zero would stall and be left ( hanging ) for a kill. Just one of the Tacics used in WW2

Yes intelligence, not the warrior code but common sense, we have better intelligence.
Your dogma defeated you, we spent money
on bigger swords not better ones.

in the battle of midway, one crashed zero fighter was rebuilt and scrutinized by US scientists. They found at that zeros have metal fatigue at 20,000 feet and above. So US planes flew since then at higher altitude and brought the fight at that height. Zeros became less maneuverable at that height. But the greatest factor in the war was the INTELLIGENCE. The veteran zero pilots were caugth refueling and some had torpedoes in their bellies when the US fighter engaged them in the battle of MIDWAY.

You really can't say that the American built planes were crap. Theoretically, if you were able to evenly match up WWII allies and axis, it would be very hard to determine air superiority.
