Thanks for putting this up, I just did my CFB course and its hard to explain to people what its like.
It was an awesome course, its an amazing sight when you're in the cell and the flames roll over the top of you through the smoke.

darren chapman from th sacfs would be good to speak to if you want additional info and footage as he is the leading instructor for this course, i must say he is very knowledgable in it too. i did this course with him and he is good

I'm doing my Ba and fire behavior training as we speak, and this video is the closest to what we have been learning. Great stuff

Hey,
Thanks For The Comments. Yes It Goes To Show How Well Gas Cooling Methods Work In Structures. Note These Are Used As Tools Not A Be All To End All With Structure Attacks. The Old Surround & Drown Still Works.
Yeah I Am Surprised That The CFA Won't Do This Type Of Training. I Do A Bit Of Training At SACFS In This Method Of Attack & We Have Had Guys From Around The State Coming Over To Do The Training.
I Have Sent You An Email In Regards To Getting This Footage.

When i was first shown this footage in contrast with the gas cooling method used in such instances I started to ask myself how the hell i lived trough so many structure fires going in without the knowledge i have today.
Unfortunately the CFA in Victoria won't approve Hot Cell training as they think it is to dangerous.
Not to mention how gas cooling lowers the temp of gas above your head on entry and working through the structure defusing the chance of Flash Over. |
