i have to say i dont like him very much, but i believe that he was being very polite and cool and she did not treat him as a head of state but as a familiar friend. that is a major no go and it is too bad she could not even understand what she has done wrong.

KEV1MAC, Nicolas Sarkozy is not a goddamn pop star, he's a president !!! & UGORICH, you are so right!! it was so incorrect, so disrespectful. In France, you don't interview politicians about private life, "PRIVATE LIFE REMAINS PRIVATE", it's not the USA, it's CBS fault, the president was right to leave
ugorich (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
It's the interviewer's fault, you can't do thesame thing practiced in the U.S in other cultures. It doesn't work all the time, next time try to learn the do's and dont's of other cultures before you go out there. She was disrespectful.

Sarkozy wants to live in the limelight - this is one of the consciences.
Death to the Lisbon Treaty!!!

well thanks. but also 60 minutes i had thought anyways, was a show more about intellectual questions related to politics, world issues, scandals and other things of that nature. I was shocked not jsut by his reaction or the question (even though extremely offensive by french standards), btu by the fact that 60 minutes asked it. this isn't etalk, or entertianment tongiht. its supposed to be about intellectual stuff,a nd I beleive sarkozy had the same impression before he went into the interview

Good for Sarkozy!
I was glad he did that!
She was being disrespectful.
She wasn't asking questions about French governmental policy, she was being sleazy and getting into his personal business.
