In the wake of a failed anti-Soviet coup in 1950s Budapest, a woman (Jadwiga Jankowska-Cieslak) working as a newspaper reporter falls in love with the wife (Grazyna Szapolowska) of an army officer. Told mostly through flashback, this thought-provoking drama from director Karoly Makk was considered too controversial for Makk's native Hungary and wasn't released there until it proved successful in other countries.
