I'm 21, don't play an instrument, and i know who this guy is :) i suppose it's because some of his famous pieces are from older films and most young people wouldn't watch them.

Very nice compilation. Thanks very much!

The weird thing with JBarry is that everybody is familiar with the 007 theme... but one may not ask 'who's the composer'. Or 'who wrote that theme to my favorite TV-show'.

There are not as many ppl watching MTV as MTV wishes. Nearly all of my friend'd better be listening 'The Doors'. Idk why, our frienship has nothing in common with our misical preferences. There're young folks addicted to rap etc. I mean, most of (young) ppl prefer particular genres...
And MTV isn't the best source for this kind of stuff. Classic, folk, hip-hop, techno, rock, jazz, whatever. Soundtracks:)
Does the situation differ in your country?

I'm the even younger people, I'm 21, and unless you attend music school or have played a musical instrument, most people my age don't have a clue about who any of these greats are.
Oh, by the way, a VMA is a Video Music Award, an award given away by MTV to the artists with the best music videos. I'd say that only 50% of those artists deserve an award. |
