Too bad this wasn't made 20 years ago. Death by smoking didn't really rock my world...as evidenced by my former smoking habit. The cancer-kazoo would have scared the crap out of me when I was getting the anti-tobacco propaganda in high school.

Holy shit, CALM DOWN, i was just trying to make a point. Kids in school only get half the story, they should be presented all the facts from BOTH SIDES and make a choice. smoking is NOT a death sentence, people die everyday, smokers and non-smokers. also let me tell you something about Truth, the facts the give you are bent. if a smoker dies in a car accedent they use him as part of their statistics, even though he did not die from smoking. they lie just like everybody else.

Hey QDRUM803, Are you REALLY that stupid??? The people that did the video (TRUTH) are only trying to prevent KIDS from starting to smoke cigs! IS THAT A BAD THING??? Car makers build "safe-cars", Carpenters build "railings" around stairs for safety... Do tobacco companies make a "safe" cig? A cancer-free-smoke? NO!!! They dont give a shit about you or me! They only care about filling thier wallets! And if YOU dont see that, your doomed! GOOD LUCK AND PUFF AWAY!

Cars kill people, should we ban those too? people fall down stairs and die should we ban those? FUCK YOU TRUTH.

Yes, I do have a nose! And yes I do have a "hole" in my neck! The hole is made by doctors when they removed my LARYNX (voice-box) The nose was made by God to hold my sunglasses!
QUESTION: Why was the commercial mentioned on NPR? What was the subject? ETC...
Thanks, Tommy* (The COWBOY in the video)

Yea i was listing to NPR also and they made no such comment about a nose-less cowboy. They said he had a hole in is neck, but his nose was never! mentioned.

NPR just reported on this ad stating that the cowboy had no nose! That guy clearly has a nose.

I'm a very recently reformed smoker, (quit 8 months ago) and it was fear of disability, and not death that motivated me to quit. I suspect that most people who have to rely an electrolarynx to speak, avoid going out in public because of a stigma that I'm sure you are well aware of. You're doing a very admirable thing, standing virtually alone against an inundation of glamorous images of smoking. You're the star of one of the smartest tobacco awareness psa's I've ever seen.

Theyre just normal people. Why would they scare you? Like TJC said, Youve probably never met a laryngectomee. I have, Theyre just as normal as anyone else, just with an altered voice. Such as me, I have scoliosis and continue to this day to lean to one side, I dont feel appreciated when people call me "scary."
