This Mortal Coil made it their own , you dont need to compare it to the Tim Buckley version.
They have a complete different sound . I love this version.

Mere words simply do not work when trying to describe the utter joy Liz' voice can bring to one's ears, let alone soul. heh, as I'm typing this I'm getting all teary.. Sure wish they were still making music as the Cocteau Twins.

Sitting here listening to this instantly brings tears to my eyes that fall down my face. My arms feel like they are just shivering to death inside & outside. ALWAYS makes me cry like a little child & this live version is beyond exceptional.
Even now I am breathing heavily because I can't believe that something as beautiful & pure as this could ever exist. BEST piece of voice & music ever recorded. Very special & so full of intensety from the soul + A performance like this will survive forever

please type "Tim Buckley Song to the siren" and see how he (who composed it!) approaches the song... it's huge on the album, but it's better live (completely different version).
if you really like this song, you'll be glad to watch it.
it's all about the feeling...

No one can sing this better than Elizabeth. This song is made for her to sing.
