In my opinion, there is no clearer or more beautiful voice than that of Allison Kraus. There has not been one collaboration that I have heard that she has been a part of that wasn't greatly enhanced by her contribution.

Peter Paul and Mary do a nice version of this although it was called "Polly Von". Our high school class (1968) was studying what a ballad was, the teacher using their version as an example. I agree with robinhood48 comment. So many female singers yip and yodel (that is what I call it!) when singing, really ruins a song. The PP&M version is on YouTube..type in "Peter Paul and Mary Polly Von. I never paid much attention to Alison Krauss' music before, but I will now!!!
