Your efforts in giving these lessons is really commendable. However I think it may not be appropriate to do so. The style and finger movements that you show may be ok for you but it isnt the effective way to play. The bols need to be much more crisp and clear. I am afraid people who learn from these videos may not learn properly. I really do appreciate your efforts. I wish the more adept tabla players did so.

it's an instrument...you cant learn everything in a few minutes. Spend 3 days, at least an hour every day, practicing the bols taught in each lesson. Spend 30 minutes doing technique and then the last 20(or longer) combining them to make compositions. Then you can re-practice bols from previous lessons and combine them into the one you just learned. Never go ahead or else you'll get confused and you'll never learn every technique properly.

I am pretty sure the instruction at the beginning of this lesson is all mixed up. For a beginner like me that really is a pain.

I just bought Tabla, and I fould this perfect vedio to learn it. Can you please let me know how much time normally it takes to reach this stage. I am little frustrated at this point by seeing all the vedios in few minutes

your vedio are quite good but you speed up to quickly and you only use one fingure for the banya if you used two and one fingure it would help you play faster. |
