[Part 1 of 8] Missa Cantata, or sung Low Mass, offered on the Last Sunday after Pentecost at the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Nicholas of Chardonnet in Paris, France. This is the Eucharistic liturgy of the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church celebrated according to the 1962 Roman Missal (Missale Romanum), also commonly referred to as the Tridentine Rite, or Tridentine Mass, or Tridentine Latin Mass, or Old Latin Mass, or classical Latin Mass, or Traditional Latin Mass (TLM). This same Mass may be viewed or downloaded on Google as one full-length video: http://video.google.com/videop... A "missa cantata" is an approved form of celebration of the Traditional Roman Rite of Mass which serves as a compromise between a Low Mass (which involves no music or incense, by definition) and a Solemn High Mass (which has strict instructions and requirements for celebration that cannot be met in many parishes). For more information, please read this fine article in the 1913 Catholic Encyclopedia: http://www.newadvent.org/cathe... The texts of the Latin prayers, and English translations of the same, which are common to every Traditional Latin Mass can be found here: http://www.sacred-texts.com/ch...

Libs, get used to it. It's happening all over the world. The vulgarity generated by Vatican2 is dying, dying, dying. THANK GOD.

The Processional Music is Deux Branles de Champagne by Gervaise, followed by a Gaillarde, also by Gervaise. These pieces are found in a volume published by Editions Musicales Chanvrelin called Pieces de la Renaissance pour Orgue. I received this information from someone else on here - as I had the same question! :-) great piece!

A quick observation, since this is a Missa Cantata and not a Missa Solemnis, shouldn't the chalice (with accompanying veil, burse, etc) be on the altar before the Mass starts? However, in the Missa Solemnis the chalice is on the credence table for the subdeacon to bring up to the altar for the offertory.

No, we need the "Pope" to be in Communion with the Traditions of the Apostles and of Christ. You don't bend the teachings of Christ to be in Harmony with the opinions of the World, or even of the Pope; if he really is the Pope, what he says should be in Communion with the Traditions of the Church.

When has he condemned the immoral priests in his Church? Honestly, can you tell of one instance when he excommunicated a priest or bishop who raped a child? First of all, I know for a fact you can't. I just looked it up. Second of all, He can make all the speeches and laws he wants; until he enforces them, they are useless. BTW, if you look it up, you'll find that that the excommunication never went through; this was confirmed by a New Church Cardinal not long ago.
