Shuggie's one of the best blues guitar player
I've ever heard.
I'm a fan in Thailand, and I curious where
he's gone.

Since I made the post I kinda found out what I was curious about. I was wondering why he didn't become better known to the general public, or as some call it famous. Seems he was not blessed with good health and I guess that had as much to do with it as anything else. Thanks for doing the math and not just telling me that if I could add that I should be able to make a close guess.

Recorded in '69, released in '70, so I would say he's about 54 years old.

How old would he be now? I have not heard a thing about him since those days. I'm speaking of Shuggie Otis.

Awsome cover of an old "Animals" chestnut.
Al is one of the most under-rated musicians in history. Read his book "Back Stage Passes and Back Stabbing Bastards".

"Shuggie's Shuffle" and "..Slow Goombash Blues" are both some of the finest blues playing ever recorded.
At 15 yrs old, this guy really had it. Nasty.
Whew.

Probably Al's best effort in his Columbia tenure...and the least acknowledged...next to
the legendary "Super Session" comes this one.
There's a reason it was dubbed "Super Session Vol 2"...! Dig the piano on here...! |
