Sheryl did do this. This was the opening of Act 2 on Broadway. Set in 1972. 5 years after the end of Act 1, which ended with the Deena Jones and the Dreams performing without Effie for the first time. Also, this was the "new" Act 2 opening, which you won't see on the bootleg DVD. Michael Bennet didn't stage it this way until Dreamgirls opened in L.A. Then he took the "new" Act 2 opening back to the Broadway production.

the medley was good I loved every min of it the was new a fresh. I wounder if sheryl lee ralph could do this I mean the original dreamgirls are getting theirs now!!! that would be real good but she did her thing!!!!
