I've lived in Pittsburgh, home of the Heinz company, and even there I've seen the word "catsup" on supermarket signs. In most of the country it's called "ketchup." "Catsup" is a pretty out-of-date term.

MOST American say ketchup, actually. Now, do a little research and you will see that Jonathan Swift, an Anglo-Irishman, used the term "catsup" in 1730 (which was before the United State became a country).
