we had to make a video depicting something from our culture. I'm a true Hip Hop head-a purist. I fell in love with it when I was in elementary school. I thought it would be nice to shine a light on Hip Hop especially in the face of the horror that is rap music today.
There are four elements of Hip Hop: Breaking, DJing, Graffiti, and MCing
Each element is depicted in the manner in which I met it in the 80's. The pictures are collected from everywhere, the videos are pieces I painstakingly spliced (sound like a pro, huh?) together. The music some of my favorite old stuff which laid down over the video, and the first part is original. At the end, I have a montage(?) of some of the original and influential MC's of my time. At the beginning is *my* rhyme about the influence Hip Hop had on me.. I know, I have a terrible voice, but so does Little Jon;)
The artists and works in order, are:
Music- Beat by emotionlbeats.com, vocal by Me
Rock Steady crew documentary
Breakin' the movie - various artists
KRS-One video
Doug E Fresh- mall performance
KRS-One video
Bad boy Bill- footage from National DJ

MUSIC Song by Public Enemy,"Bring the Noise"
Graffiti photos- Train photos: MisterW is the photographer of most of them, artists unknown. collected from the internet and scanned pictures belonging to me and a friend,
Graffiti videos - they came from youtube, but seem to have disappeared since I downloaded them.
MC: Play in House party
Mos Def in video of Respiration
