I had to tear up a bit when watching this, I didn't expect the part near the very end where Jay says that She'll probably be on the show in "Another Ten Years..." to defend the song again. For the Obvious reasons : (<333

I was lucky enough to be at the taping that night (courtesy of the show's wonderful director Ellen Brown). They ended up doing the song again after the full show had taped, don't know why (technical reasons?) but both takes were incredible.

Of all the remakes of Stand By Your Man, Lyle's is my favorite. David Allan Coe's had the sentimental touch , but Lyle's stayed close to the original and was just soo well done. |
