I did a research project on these guys for history, and I think they played a major role in the outcome of the war. I mean, without them we wouldn't have been able to communicate in a language that the Japanese couldn't understand. Plus, they were out there fighting battles as well. They deserve more respect then they get, and even still today I don't think many people give them recognition or know about them.

when i said, not recognized, i meant nationwide... not Rez wide. lol. Of course i know there legends on the rez! I'm talking about before the recognition that Bush gave them on National Television. I mean ask any white person today if they know about Navajo Code Talkers...many prolly do now yes, but back then... not too many since, Wind Talkers barely did the code talkers any justice at all. Anyways.

What do you mean they weren't recognized. Navajo code talkers are legends on the Rez.

I am a Navajo but i also like to look at the whole aspect about the code talkers, they hated the fact they weren't recognized at the end of the war, BUT! If you really think about it, Our Tribes language, or possibly others were for back up in case of another war outbreak. I mean if they revealed the country's secret success wouldn't all Native Americans be n trouble while freely traveling? i agree that it did take them awhile to recognize them, but better late than too late or never. Great vid!

These guys can not be given enough recognition for what they had done ... they were given breadcrumbs for having virtually saved the lives of us in the Western Hemisphere ... a monument should be erected for their service, loyalty, valour and dedication what they did is so understated it is shameful... hero's in my books beyond words !!!!!! Even being tortured they would not give up the ghost ...true Navajo Warriors beyond words...

I've been thinking alot lately about joining the United States Marine Corps. Because I have a need to serve my country and honor my Dine' heritage.
22 is not too old to join the Marines is it?
