I'm not forcing you, but you might want to check the tempo. This is Allegro, which is slower than Presto

i finished learning this piece, its not difficult to learn, but the difficulty is getting the right note at the right time and of course makin git look easy to play lol.

don think too much of libertie in tempo... in contrairy, the espace of the time between the notes are very equal in the same time that he do very nice phrases... and you know, in music, we should 'forward'

This guy is a brilliant violinist. However, I'm more partial to Sarah Chang when it comes to the 4 seasons. Winter at least. I enjoyed his summers. For Winter 2 (different video) he was faster than I think it should played. Winter 3 is my personal favorite to listen to and play, and his liberties with tempo I think molded the song to his style. All in all great, but not my top favorite.

eh... yes and no. Liberties with tempo...yes. Loss of tone quality... eh... yes and no. I mean technically speaking his rough playing does "destroy" the tone but I feel it gives it a quality that only enriches the music. I've done a little bit of reading and Nigel's performance of the Seasons is reported as the best playing of it since Vivaldi himself played it. |
