great band, I went through a period where I pretty much listened to nothing but Pearl Jam for almost an entire year. Random, i know, but still, great fuckin band.

I am sure that after the 80's era of songs about falling in and out of love and various corporate blandness, having songs about things that mattered or had deep emotional meaning (in this case a father who is sexually abusing his kid...) was a big relief for young people. Pearl Jam and Nirvana actually spoke to people again. Pop artists hadn't done that often since the 70's.

oh man, pearl jam. i sometimes forget these days how much i love them and overlook them when i play music in the car. VS was always in the cd player from the day i got it, my fave album by them and daughter is still one of my top 10 al time tracks. have kudos xaxamay, it seems if you were there, you never forget!
