I'm not sure if there's a point you're trying to make, yes Liza played a bit 'flirty' in the movie, I wouldn't go as far and say hooker, Joel's portrayal of MC was more of a marionette then a gay man. Now Alan Cumming on the other hand I think played a more promiscuous MC, I loved both portrayals personally.
Let's just leave the sing-a-long clowns part out of this debate.
This is one of my favourite musicals of all time, next time you bash it, know it.
