Souhail Kaspar is such an amazing percussionist and performer. Also a wonderful person - I took a workshop with him a few years ago in Seattle and he is a GREAT teacher! Very funny and kind. This is an awesome video.

In comparision to the "famous" drummers, absolutely! Souhail is much better than Amir, ego and all. Amir is a very weak player. He could be a great teacher, I wouldn't know. My favorite Arabic style drummers are Faisal, Gamal, and Said. With music, Said is a master. NO ONE tops him. Others who are good; Amir Sofi, Farouk, Souhail, Suleiman. Who are your favorites? |
