There is absolutely no comparison for artistic value and depth between the Clinton/Wain and the Shaw/Forrest - you have no idea how wrong you are. Not to get personal, but you don't--have--a--clue. There is and was a good reason the Clinton version was #1 for 9 weeks in 1939, and Shaw's only made it to # 17. And although Shaw's band was by far and away more vital and important band, on this one Clinton and his singer, Bea Wain was the sun to their mere moon.

You should really load in "Deep Purple" by Larry Clinton Orchestra, featuring Bea Wain on vocal, which is the definitive version. The Clinton version was #1 for NINE weeks in 1939, Shaw's only made it to #17.
