Id love to discuss about that movie cuz ive just watched it twice and I discovered so many stuff that I didnt the first time I saw it on the silver screen when it first came out. To me this movie is about the cruelty of how the film business works and of the real life also. It's kinda telling us that what defines our future isnt necessarily pure... It's rather influenced by something that's above us, something rather dark and filthy. Creepy.

This scene is so somehow identical to that one in Blue Velvet. One of the girls is even crying the same way Dennis Hopper was when Isabella Rossellini was singing Blue Velvet. The resemblance is striking. David Lynch has a way of getting into our mixed emotions without us knowing how. This scene is very important in the movie cuz its the part where the girls kinda switch their lives. Starting there everything falls apart for ''the real blond'' girl. (to be followed)

I love every version of this song--from Roy Orbeson to k.d Lang. But I must admit this is my favorite. I find it haunting and sublime all at once.

Agreed, but a little faith was restored when I heard this in Down By Law, right before tom waits gets arrested, but i cant find a clip on you tube

It makes me sad that this great scene is now being mentioned in the same breath as Prison Break because of them using the same song...
At least this scene is timeless and will always remain that way.

His films stick with one, and haunt one like sudden flashbacks, sudden visions.
