Interesting to see how the song was tweaked slightly to make that bit punchier. It's definitely better in the released form but it would have made little difference who had sang it I feel. I had heard however it was offered to Kylie before Britney but Kylie rejected it for being to raunchy.

Cathy wrote song for Brit...She never made it for her...She sung the song and gave to Britney song wich is done so Britney can sing it easier, cause song is very hard!

Basically Britney's version was over produced and apes Cathy's phrasing - i this was a finsished version it would have been a massive hit back in the early 90s when she was 'acceptably' young enough.

well you need to realize that Cathy Dennis is a real honest to goodness Artist and Composer...plus Brit the Twit could never write such a hit on her own...Cathy Dennis' song doesn't need body parts hanging out...but it is funny how alot of people listen to this version and still think it is Brit Spears...how ironic.

This is how I see it. Cathy never intended to release this herself but recorded this version so that it could be offered to people such as Britney (Ellis Bextor?) so that she (Britney) would undertand how it could could sound. As stated by vivabritney, it's a demo.
