I am Taiwanese, fluent, and for the record, in Taiwan there are two languages used. Mandarin AND Taiwanese. Younger people tend to use Mandarin which China considers 'Chinese.' Though, its preferable to call it Mandarin in terms of Taiwan. Another thing, Japanese sounds completely different. And I also speak that as well, kanji is taken from Chinese origin. The characters, but not the exact sounds.

Not in the least. :) Unfortunately I don't know any Asian languages, I'm able to differentiate between some of the major ones (Korean, Japanese, Mandarin) I only speak and write western languages such as English(USA), French, some Spanish and Italian, and I'm working on German. Were you looking for a translation to this or something in Japanese?
