Maritza Sayalero Fernández (Caracas, 16 de febrero de 1961) es una modelo venezolana que se convirtió en la primera Miss Universo de ese país, en el año 1979. Nació en el Hospital Universitario, en la Parroquia San Pedro, de Caracas. Sus padres son Francisco Sayalero y Gloria Fernández, esta última, prima hermana de la actriz y cantante española Sara Montiel. Su infancia y adolescencia transcurrieron en la capital venezolana y a los 18 años comenzó sus estudios de Arquitectura en la Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV).
