Most people should not wonder why he passed or who did it...just understand a great life was led and that in a glimpse he spoke volumes on something we can all share and that is LIFE respect his passing and focus on how you can change inside to help others around you!!

I looked on wikipedia and realized that there are many versions of how and why he was shot. I don't know what to believe, but I know that he had talent. He was important to the world of music, and none of us knew him personally. So when you think about it, whether he attacked someone or was just randomly shot because he said the wrong thing; it really shouldn't matter to us. He was an amazing artist either way.

He was shot by a woman who was working the desk at the inn he was staying at. He came down to the lobby in a long coat (the woman who accused him of assault fled with his clothes) and Sam stormed the desk, and the woman shot him out of "self defense". Self defense from someone who was supposedly inebriated, but had the sense to put a coat on so he wouldn't be naked. Someone who had no weapons. And the woman was in danger, yet found the time to take Sam's clothes.
The story doesn't fit. At all.

im sorry to say jive wot u said is wrong, the woman was not black she was of asian descent e.g. chinese, and she was found, she was brought in front of a court and found to be a well known prostitute. However i do agree, I have read lots about his death and there is many parts of the story that do not fit

It was a black women,she was blackmailed by the c.i.a together with another black female that lured him out of the nightclub to the motel, it was told by the police that the motelowner had to shoot him to save herself from over-aggressive and violent Cooke,she was brought out afterwards to confirm the police statement,the other female was never to be found or looked for by the police,nobody in the club knew who she was.

he was shot by some guy at a hotel; probably for no reason, but there was some conflict between him and some when, or atleast that's what was said, they might have lied

Leslie West did the best cover. Check Youtube. He gives it the most emotion. But this is also really good. Blows away Stevie Wonder's version. Sam Cooke rocks. Knows exactly how to produce emotion. |
