I saw this show and immediately fell in love with this song. I bought 'In My Tribe' and the whole album was amazing. Verdi Crys is still the standout track and a song I come back to again and again. Sheer Class

"In My Tribe" is such an incredible album/tape/CD that one need just listen.
What a voice and the band can play.
remember when bands could play?
It twernt so long ago.
And if nothing else if you got interested in who the hell Jack Kerouac was you might have picked up one of his books and read it.
Remember when people read books?
It twernt so long ago.

Beautiful voice, great music, but it's hard to watch much of the time.

Saw Natalie perform this song in '89 or '90 in a little town north of Modeno, Italy, called Settecani (literally, seven dogs). Wondered what in the world the band's manager was thinking! Anyway, Natalie stopped the song halfway through, was upset with the ciggy smoke - OMG, what a B****. Crowd convinced her to finish it - she's got one of the most beautiful voices of the 80s/90s. Wish she had the beautiful attitude to go with it. Still, she gets a pass.....

She has a fantastic voice, and her outspokken views have turned off some fans, but I applaud her for using her fame to promote good values and ethics.Better than gaining fame by being shot,or starting a designer handbag collection.

I totally agree with you--Merchant's voice is amazing and I have every 10,000 Maniacs album, but when she went solo I saw her interview and perform on Jon Stewart's long ago talk show on MTV and she was so insufferable, and so clearly didn't want be there, it completely turned me off and I have never spent a dime on her solo releases as a result. Mary J. Blige is another artist who was also incredibly obnoxious early in her career which has kept me from being a fan via my wallet.

and what a fulfilling relationship you and your hand must have
