Leonard is a poet more so than a song wrighter. Any song he writes is pretty much purposfully intended for another artist to interprit. Of coarse there are a few exceptions the Leonard does better than any one but this sure isn't one of them. Antony and the Johnsons absoulutly nail this song and interprit it in a way that even Leonard Cohen would be proud of. P.S. I think Leonard is prooud of many who have covered his music. I think he wrote it that way.
