Interesting story about his name, there. His parents named him J.R. The Air Force wouldn't settle for just initials, so when he joined up,he adopted "John" as his first name. When he started performing, he billed himself as "Johnny".

actually, i believe this is right before he started drugs. plus, his real name was J.R., since his parents couldn't decide on a name, just initials. |
