I didn't realize Weaver was so short.
I liked when baseball players were real people. Nobody can relate to someone who makes $20 million a season.

Okay, last one about this game. Attendance was down all over the league. It wasn't until Peter Ueberroth took over that teams other than the Yankees would draw large crowds in September.

This happened in 1982. I remember seeing this clip minus the cussing of course on a sports special. They won in in 1983. Tracewski was the 1st base coach for Sparky Anderson during that time too.

Normally I'd say because the team sucked, but they won 100 games in 1980, so that couldn't be the reason (although still only finishing in 2nd place). Attendance isn't so great in Balt. these days either. Maybe it's the organization.
