y, i do too, but mostly myspacing, it's easy.. And you're right, it doesn't matter, it's just great music :D

you lost the point, the point is that its prog. does the genre matters? ye because if you like pelican, then you probably will like Isis witch is in the same genre. i get bored really easily, and i all ways look for new bands.
ps
there is a connection between sludge and post metal.
HamsterRapingBastard (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
i know all those bands, but i'm not really interested in knowing which styles they are, i just think it's good music.. Isis is more like sludge metal though, in my opinion :)
but yeah, you could be right :)

its to complicated to explain in a comment, there is a nice site named Progarchives read about math rock, post rock and post metal, read it in this order. post rock came out from math, the main difference is the drumming, and post metal is basically a post rock with heavy vocal and power chords.well its not exactly like this, there are more differences, but that's why i gave you the "link" :)good examples are ..
post rock: Russian circles
post metal: Isis
math rock: Minus the Bear(hate them)

post is latin for 'after'. And it's no new kind, although, not really,,
Ogorek (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
To me "post" just mean some kind of new wave of rock.
HamsterRapingBastard (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
no i don't actually, but post, in my opinion, still means 'after'. How can it be post rock then when this style already exists for 10 years?
bluesenight (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
do you know what a post metal/rock are?? my guess no.. post metal/rock are considered as prog sub. |
