To those who make allegations against FARC:
You are "not" living proof of atrocities by FARC, even if you think, rightly or wrongly, that you are.
Your testimony may be evidence, in a court, adduced to prove alleged criminal offences. But you cannot, at your own behest, simply assert that FARC is a criminal organization, guilty of criminal offences, and should therefore be convicted. That decision rests with an impartial court, not you.
If your country has a corrupt or corruptible judiciary that is your problem. The fundamental tenet the criminal justice system operates on is this: every one is "presumed" to be innocent until proven guilty by a court of law [not by you,me, or by public opinion].
Another thing, the reason Red Army fraction appear on my channel is because, although convicted of serious offences, there is on-going speculation as to the legitimacy of their trials (in an imperialist court). The circumstances surrounding the deaths of Ulrike Meinhof, Baader, Enslinn, Raspe, and wounding of Irmgard Möller, remain controversial.
Lastly, there is no "slander" or defaming of the name "Guevaristas" merely because "you assert" there is. Furthermore, you can speculate as to what Che would have thought of farc, but the answer you arrive at is likely to be completely fallacious.

'Q: Some claim that the FARC is nothing more than a criminal organization, that it is not political or ideological. What do you think of these claims?
Reyes: It is a campaign of the war, it is nothing more or less than a form of war. They use it to discredit the revolutionary struggle. This campaign has gained strength from September 11, right? When the twin towers fell in the United States and everyone began talking about terrorism, the Colombian government started calling the FARC and all the revolutionary organizations in Colombia and the world "terrorists." Then they could liquidate them, intimidate them and force them to renounce the revolutionary struggle. And this has increased war in the world. But the results, in our judgment, have not favored the United States, nor Mister Bush, whose credibility today has been dramatically diminished. The popularity of Mister Bush is not the best at this time, because of the war against Iraq. Álvaro Uribe, to the shame of us Colombians, is the only ruler in our region—South America—that has supported that war. I believe that the American people will take measures to discontinue the wrong policies of their government. Fortunately, one sees some expressions of this now. Some Democrats are beginning to say "No, we are not going to support the deployment of our troops to Iraq, they have to return to United States as soon as possible. We are not going to approve the budget for the war. Neither are we going to approve more money for Plan Colombia without conditions. We are not going to sign an FTA with a government like the one in Colombia, which is a narco-paramilitary government, a corrupt government, a government that has fought an endless war against Colombians." We don't think that this is a solution, but is an important step that the FARC values. At least the Democrats are helping some thinking sectors in the United States to understand this phenomenon and to work to dismantle the machinery of war.
Many think that every American, by virtue of being from there, is an imperialist. For this reason the FARC has produced two or three documents indicating that we deeply respect and admire the American people, but we do have deep differences and are affected by the policies of the American State. Before the attack against Marquetalia in 1964, the embassy of the United States was contributing money for the war against the FARC and has always funded Colombian governments so that they can maintain the war against the FARC. And we recall what happened in the dialogues in San Vicente del Caguán with Pastrana. The government of Clinton was the first to oppose the dialogue, and Clinton is the father of Plan Colombia. The world has to know this and we cannot forget it in Colombia because it is part of our history. And what did we see happen with Plan Colombia, a continuation of the strategy of war, not only against Colombians, but against the region. The United States seeks to expand into this region that contains the greatest biodiversity in the world; it's called the lung of the world. There are geo-strategic interests that the United States intends to achieve through crimes, killings, slander and lies.'

Maybe you should go live in Colombia instead of speaking about it with your keyboard in the comfort of your home. You have no idea, you buy into propaganda quite easily it seems, go live in Colombia, go speak to some mothers who haven't seeing their children in years because they've being kidnapped by FARC, you really got no idea.

Oh really? and did you ask them how they felt about the FARC kidnapping innocent Colombians? You keep avoiding that fact. Did you ask them what good the FARC have done for the Colombian people?
The FARC prey on weak minded people like you and the supposed Colombians you spoke to to join their lost cause and to fight for them and why don't you try to stay on topic, we're talking about the FARC here, a group in Colombia, not the US and the war crimes it has committed in the middle east.

There are Columbians that support FARC, i have spoken to them. Your generalizations are nothing short of absurd, in the light of US war crimes ie. in Iraq

Also I want to say that I find it disgusting that you have videos of the Zapatista movement and men like Karl Marx and Che Guevara on the same page as the FARC as if all are some how connected, the only connection they have is through people like you who think all leftist movements are the same, read a damn book.

Real revolutionaries like Che for example would ashamed of the FARC's actions and what they represent today, I have no doubt in my mind about this. He's revolution was built out of love for his people, the FARC terrorize their own people in order to gain money/attention and in the process do nothing to help the Colombian people.

Resistance against corrupt power is good but the FARC are just as corrupt and messed up as the government it says it's trying to over throw.
FARC has caused more pain and misery for the people of Colombia then they have done good, the movement started with an Ideology but today is nothing more then a terrorist group that do nothing to help the people of Colombia.

Hi, my ex girlfriend and still good friend is from Colombia and is studying political science and so I have quite a good bit of knowledge about the FARC and Colombia in general.
You're right, Western nations like the States and North America have committed untold atrocities all over South America but how does that justify FARC kidnapping innocent Colombians? Their OWN people who apparently they're trying to "help".

To ZOOTEX- you make allegations of criminal activity by FARC. Have any of these been actually proven? Are you Judge, jury, and executioner?
Western nations like the united states of North America have committed untold atrocities all over this planet. Do you think Marxist groups etc should not engage in the use of force in light of this? What you implicitly state, is that it's alright for one faction to use force, but not another. You are inconsistent and contradictory in your views.

The FARC may of started out with a decent ideology but now they are no better then the corrupt government and system that they seek to over throw, dealing in drugs, kidnapping innocent people to extort money, they are now nothing more then terrorists. I think for anyone who is interested in socialism or even communism it is really really stupid to support a group like the FARC - how would you feel if your mother was kidnapped by them and held in the jungle for years? |
