I saw The Tubes in 1975 at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco. To this day, it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Unbelievable musicianship and stagecraft, hilarious satires (such as this one of Fee Waybill as "Quay Lude") - just a first-rate show.

Hi Schmedley etc
Darling your parents were wise!

I was 9 when they did this (which still makes me 'old' compared to the Hipsters of today), and my parents made sure to expose me to them (and Iggy, Alice, David, Brian Eno, etc..) which lead me to dig in to the L.A. Punk scene as it started. All respect to Originators not merely Immitators. Nothing beats inventing something with wit and satire that, while technologically primitive and dated, is still relevant. Check out Redd Kross. They were, like, 13-years-old and making the scene in 1980.
