The Australian guitarist John Williams has played a guitar (with string orchestra) arrangement of this sonata. It captured the essence of Schubert though the 1st movement lacked the knockout punch (i.e. hitting E6) which most cellists (except this one) avoid. Have you listened to Yuri Bashmet's (viola) interpretation of this work? I felt his version was very song-like throughout all 3 movements!

I loved it so much!! Great Job!

I imagine the guitar could be expressive but could not produce the color and tone by any means that was wanted for the sonata.

I liked it. Who made the guitar arrangement?

Actually you'd be surprised how expressive the guitar can be though I guess it's quite subjective and open to interpretation!

She can put so much feeling into her part, i doubt any guitar can produce the same touch, so my guess is he would have loved it :)
