Nope they didn't "fizzle" with new leader Jean Terrel they had many hits, the most notable being STONED LOVE and UP THE LADDER TO THE ROOF and even after she left, lead singer Scherrie Payne managed to get the group a #1 on the Disco charts with He's My Man and a respectable showing on the charts with LET MY HEART DO THE WALKING with little backing from Motown

All of the Supremes were good but Diana Ross was the spark that ignited them, she became a superstar and the group fizzled out within a few years after Diana left.

Let me add that neither Pixie or Dixie is mic'd on this segment. Only Diana is singing live. And, Pixie and Dixie were not used in the studio after a certain point. Diana's studio backup were the Andantes. |
