Watch the ball from the bowlers hand. If you can see the seam position and know where the ball is being released then it's a lot easier to predict whether it's going to be short or full and whether it's going to move on you. Just like monty118 said there will be bad balls and when they come, put them away.

bro, idk if sum1 allready helped u but cc to me and the way i play, first u shud choose the correct ball to play it, it shud be short and on middle/leg stump line and to judge that make sure u look at the ball when released and not the bowler, tht way u will c better and connect it, 2nd is footwork, i would recommend going backfoot and make sure u in a steady postion, if ur feet are not in balance then u will not connect well. hope it helps.

Oh no, I put my finger on the back of the bat like the way he said you shouldn't.....fortaunately I haven't broken a finger so far......but I'm worried about my technique now.......:(
