But what am i saying, SRV is probably the only guitarist who could play Hendrix's music.
Desertfox177 (October 4, 2008 at 3:15 pm)
o and i can maybe list one guitarist that is just as good as SRV and thats Jimi Hendrix.

Man, two legends in a room..... what wonderful music.

Well I heard of many guitar players trying to pick up Stevie's stuff, but none have played even half a good as him! Stevie was one of a kind, special and full of talent! Stevie Ray's style is one of the hardest ever to pick to play, and he had an amazing voice! BTW. SRV is one of the best tehnically skilled guitar players ever, so I think all that crap you said that someone can pull of what he did is stupid and fake, cause nobody can! He is a god and nobody touches Stevie Ray!

perhaps eric johnson, he's a very skilled guitarist. but nowhere near the likes of SRV, with the risk of sounding ridiculously nostalgic. eric johnson still have my deepest respect, albeit a different kind of music he performs.

ztrapwn, in answer to ur comment, i think the reason we don't see much of this any more is cause the original artsit had the passion, copying what someone else played is easy, playing from the heart, is what gives the performences so much feeling.

agree with you loufish. a lot of guitarists can pull off what SRV and king does technically, but there's something about hearing their songs. sadly, I don't see much of this anymore now that many are dead.
