Okay assholes, we get it. There's no sound (though the point of the piece was to point out that there's ALWAYS sound [the idea came to him after spending time in a "sound proof" chamber at Harvard, where one can still detect the sound of one's own nervous and circulatory systems in function]). This piece is a just agimmick, of course, but John Cage was a brilliant and innovative composer. Take a listen to the Sonatas and Interludes for prepared piano and his greatness is apparent.

or, we are smart enough to know, that this is bullshit. music is the art form where sound is organised in time. this has sound but it isnt organised there is simply noise.

John Cage composes such catchy tunes! I can't wait till he finishes his Mambo for Percussion and Strings without Percussion or Strings :) I'm working on Sonatina in F, Op. 38 for Piano Bench (pianist adjusts the bench up and down to a 23/4 meter for 7 minutes). Connecting the phrasing correctly is especially tricky.

Wow they are so skilled at their music. Hey did you hear the trombones in the background? They made a nice soothing sound. Oh and the piano made a quiet sound which almost sounded like nothing. So cool. =P
