This is the sound of new Europe, centered in the middle of our old continent, but incorporating vibrant influences from the emerging new frontier which stretches all the way to Mitteleuropa, the South East, Greece, Turkey and beyond... Disko Partizani! sees Shantel successfully synthesizing his experiences as a producer, musician and DJ to create catchy, energetic and festive pop songs, full of hooks and surprises. The album features great performances by a host of musicians from southeast Europe and by Shantel himself, who also appears on lead vocals, gracing several tracks with an unexpected, elegant deadpan delivery. Essay Recordings (Shantel's label) and Crammed have joined forces for this very special album, which will come out in early September 2007. Shantel will be extensively touring with the Disko Partizani project, accompanied by his Bucovina Club Orkestar, a full 8-piece band. Shantel, who started out as a respected electronica producer (with two albums out on Studio K7), has taken to the music of Eastern Europe following a trip to Bucovina, in search of his family roots. His Bucovina Club albums have earned him several awards (including a BBC World Music Award). Stop press: Shantel has written the original music for "The Edge Of Heaven", the new Fatih Akin movie which just won an award at the Cannes Film Festival. Disko Partizani will be released through Crammed worldwide, except in the following countries: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Turkey, Serbia and Japan.

1.When Ottomans won Greece,Greece was under a big war between greece and...greece(i don't know the word). 2.The REAL name of the 2nd capital of Turkey is Konstantinoupoli or Constantinople(it means the city of Constantine[Konstantinos].Konstantinos is one of the most populated names in Greece,more known as Kostas.Then Ottomans got Greece when it was called Byzantio and Konstantinople and they changed it's name to Instanbul-Stabul. 3.The song has been a source for a war in internet.Stop it.

Disko! disko! partizani!! As a Turk I hope shantel gets bigger in the world. All those who are arguing what the name of the city is, it's Istanbul. We welcome everyone, thats Turkish hopitality.

okydok everyone. since i am not turkish or greek i can not say anything about what the "real" name of that city spoken of should be. but one thing is know is, that it does not matter. call it what you want, it does not make the city worse or better. its as far as im concerned a beautiful city. wether its called istanbul or constantinople. so stop arguing about that please. enjoy the song and shut up. thanks guys

u guys funny...istanbul is ours since 1453... and its 2008 (i think u guys still live in BC or something) but i would say..our culture is pretty similar..we can be friends if u stop slandering..and listen the song 'Istanbul is not constantinapol '

Either way -for those who know a little bit of etymologie-, the word "Istambul" is greek: Is- tam - bul= Is - tin - poli( bul)= in the city ( in greek). Thank you everybody.
